What is Hydroponics?

The Greek word “hydro” means water and “ponos” means labor or work.

Hydroponics, by definition, is a method of growing plants in a water based, nutrient rich solution. Hydroponics does not use soil, instead the root system is supported using an insert medium water- based system. The basic premise behind hydroponics is to allow the plants roots to come in direct contact with the nutrient solution while also having access to oxygen, which is essential for proper growth.

Our focus is on providing life skilled classes that help youth to explore where their food comes from. ”Our motto is from seed to table.” Encouraging interests, develop important skills, and having fun! No matter what they dream of becoming when they grow up, our hydroponic programs prepare them to do it with confidence, skill, and enthusiasm.
